Accounting for the success of Pinot Grigio, Prosecco and Brunello di Montalcino.pdf

    • Italy today counts 350 commercially cultivated grape varieties of wine but Pinot Grigio, Prosecco and Brunello di Montalcino are undoubtedly the stars in the Italian portfolio. From a marketing point of view, these three success paths can be attributed to a diverse combination of drivers. Discuss Supply And Demand In The Global Wine Market And The Impact Of The 2012 Vintage Nov13.pdf

    • The yearly released OIV information on the vintage production in 20121 showed a much reduced gap between worldwide wine production and consumption. Actual figures place the oversupply into the range between 14,3 Mhl down to negative figure of -2,9 Mhl2 which doesn ́t even cover the 30Mhl margin for wine for industrial and other uses3. And also raised some questions considering balance of the wine production in the future.

The Role Of Science And Technology In Wine Production Nov11.pdf

    • 50 revolutionary years “Wine-making is a natural process which does not strictly require any human intervention (...) humanity’s role is a more modest one, to refine and guide”, states Robinson (2006, p. 499). And even though we can’t know the exact date and place were wine was made for the first time, we can safely assume that it is as old as grapevines and a bunch fall to the ground for the first time setting off the process by which bacteria converts the juice’s sugar into ethanol and carbon dioxide (Johnson, 1989, p.16)....
